“My show ain’t ready”: Adele postpones Las Vegas residency

In a tearful Instagram video, Adele announced that she has decided to postpone her entire Las Vegas residency run of shows just 24 hours before the opening night.

"I'm so sorry, but my show ain't ready," she said. “We’ve tried absolutely everything that we can to pull it together in time and for it to be good enough for you, but we’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid.

“Half my team are down with Covid – they still are – and it’s impossible to finish the show. I can’t give you what I have right now and I’m gutted, and I’m sorry it’s so last minute.”

Adele added that herself and her team members had been awake for over 30 hours trying to come up with a way to continue with the show, but that they had now “run out of time”.

"I'm sorry it's last minute. I'm so upset and I'm really embarrassed and I'm so sorry to everyone that's travelled again,” she added, referring to fans that made the trip to Las Vegas specifically to see her perform.

"We're going to reschedule all the dates, we're on it right now. And I'm going to finish my show. I want to get it to where it's supposed to be [but] we've been up against so much and it just ain't ready."

Adele was due to play the first of 24 concerts at the Caesars Palace's Colosseum on Friday 1 January.

The Weekends With Adele series were scheduled to have Adele performing two shows every weekend until April 2022, with tickets ranging from £60 ($85) to £500 ($685), with the UK singer predicted to make more than £500,000 per performance.

All events originally scheduled for Weekends With Adele at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace January 21, 2022 through April 16, 2022 have been postponed.

Guests holding a hotel reservation at a Caesars Entertainment hotel in Las Vegas on January 21 or January 22 may cancel with a full refund.

“We understand the disappointment surrounding the postponement of Weekends With Adele,” said Caesars Palace in a statement.

“Adele is an incredible artist, supremely dedicated to her music and her fans. Creating a show of this magnitude is incredibly complex. We fully support Adele and are confident the show she unveils at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace will be extraordinary.”
