Billie Eilish To Headline Glastonbury 2022

Billie Eilish will headline Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage on the Friday night in 2022, becoming the music festival’s youngest ever solo headliner.

Glastonbury officially announced the news after Eilish shared a teaser on her Instagram story of herself wearing a Glastonbury hoodie, accompanied by the caption “2022”.

Eilish is the first headliner to be announced for the 2022 festival, the return of which is highly anticipated due to the cancellation of the 2020 and 2021 events due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Eilish will be 20 years and six months old when she headlines the festival, making her the youngest solo headliner the festival has ever welcomed to the Pyramid Stage.

Mark Hamilton of UK band Ash was approximately 20 years and three months old when he performed with the band, who headlined at Glastonbury in 1997, while Ash frontman Tim Wheeler was 20 years and five months.

Eilish made her Glastonbury debut in 2019, performing to a packed Other stage after her set was upgraded from a slot on the John Peel stage.

“We couldn’t be happier to announce that the wondrous Billie Eilish is headlining the Pyramid on the Friday at next year’s Glastonbury Festival, becoming the youngest solo headliner in our history. This feels like the perfect way for us to return and I cannot wait!” said Emily Eavis.

Tickets for the 2022 festival, which runs from June 22 to June 26 are sold out, with deposits paid for the 2020 festival having rolled over for a second year, following the cancellation of the 2021 festival.
