BRIT Awards Public Vote Opens Thursday 20 January 2022

The BRIT Awards has announced that the public vote, which will determine the winners of the four new genre awards for the 2022 ceremony, will launch at 12.00 GMT Thursday 20 January and close at 18.00 GMT Thursday February 3.

The four categories the public can cast votes for are Alternative/Rock Act, Dance Act, Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act and Pop/R&B Act.

Powered by TikTok – the first time the app has powered a UK awards show – the vote will launch on a dedicated voting hub.

Users of TikTok will be able to cast up to 10 votes per category per day, with vote limits resetting at midnight GMT every night for the duration of the voting window.

The activity is supported by Bauer Media Audio UK, whose brands Absolute Radio, KISS, KISS Fresh and Hits Radio will drive their listeners to vote across the two week period through on-air promotions and social media.

Mastercard returns as headline partner for the 24th year, having supported The BRITs for over two decades. Mastercard will sponsor the Mastercard Album award, as well as Song of the Year with Mastercard.

As the home of the official livestream on YouTube, audiences around the world will be able to watch the whole journey of the BRITs unfold, from the nominations, through the run-up, to the awards themselves and the performances on demand afterwards.

Fans will also be able to watch exclusive behind-the-scenes footage on the night on YouTube Shorts, a new short-form video experience right on YouTube, as well as listening to their favourite artists' playlists on YouTube Music. YouTube Shorts sponsors the 2022 Artist of the Year award.

The BRIT Awards 2022 will take place Tuesday February 8 at The O2 Arena, exclusively broadcast on ITV and ITV Hub and hosted by Mo Gilligan.
