His songs racked up a collective total of 75.7 million on-demand streams (audio and video combined) on April 9 and 10 – a figure up by 928% compared to the 7.36 million they earned on April 7 and 8.

His most-streamed songs on April 9 and 10 were Ruff Ryders’ Anthem (9.59 million – up 973%), X Gon’ Give It To Ya (5.79 million – up 900%), Slippin’ (5.52 million – up 853%), Party Up (Up In Here) (5.20 million – up 941%) and How It’s Goin’ Down featuring Faith Evans (3.52 million – up 69%).

Streams of DMX’s music spiked in the US in the days following his death.

Among the many people who have paid tribute to DMX are his ex-wife Tashera Simmons, Swizz Beatz, Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg.

Snoop said:

“He influenced, he inspired and he represented. His soul will live on and his music will live on, as well. We thank you, brother, for what you brought to us. He was funny. He loved old-school music. He loved old-school cars. And when I say he loved old-school music, he loved old-school music and gospel music, probably more than rap music. And that’s what people didn’t know.

“But if you listen to him talk and you listen to what he testify and what he’s always giving up, it’s either that R&B or the gospel music that always pushed the message behind DMX.”
