Rising star Cat Burns to perform at The BRITs

Platinum-selling singer-songwriter Cat Burns will perform live at the BRITs ceremony, taking place February 11 2023 live from The O2 arena and exclusively broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX. Burns will join the already-announced Harry Styles, Wet Leg and Sam Smith & Kim Petras.

Burns has received three nominations at this year’s BRITs following the success of her single, go.

“I went to the BRITs in 2017 and always dreamed of performing on the stage one day,” said Burns. “It’s such an honour and a huge milestone for me. I can’t wait!”

The 22-year-old singer-songwriter is from Streatham, South London. In 2014, she walked in the footsteps of Adele, Amy Winehouse and FKA twigs as a scholar at The BRIT School, and she later released her debut EP, Adolescent in 2016.

Adolescent climbed to #11 on the singer/songwriter charts in 24 hours and she released her debut single, Sober in 2018.

2020 marked the release of go, a song which went viral on TikTok towards the end of 2021, peaked at #2 in the Official Singles Chart last year and became Burns’ first platinum-selling hit.

Amidst the success of go, she released her six-track EP emotionally unavailable in May and supported Ed Sheeran on the European leg of his Mathematics tour last summer.

Nominations for the 2023 BRIT Awards were announced earlier this month, with Harry and Wet Leg both nominated for four awards. Other artists nominated for multiple awards include Beyoncé, Aitch, Arctic Monkeys, Cat Burns, Dave, Ed Sheeran, Eliza Rose, Lizzo, Nova Twins, Sam Smith, Stormzy and Taylor Swift.
