NAMM’s Believe in Music week opens its virtual doors

NAMM’s Believe in Music Week — the global gathering to unify and support the people who bring music to the world — opened its virtual doors and got underway today.

The online celebration, taking place this week from January 18-22, will feature a mix of comprehensive programming and professional education, as well as an interactive marketplace to connect buyers and sellers – all designed to elevate the innovation and inspiration found across the industry while offering support for those most deeply affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event will also offer live music, content and product discovery for all attendees, fulfilling its goal of connecting music makers and enthusiasts across the world.

While it goes without saying that many will be missing the familiar halls of the Anaheim Convention Centre, a plethora of companies in the MI and pro audio industries have turned their full attention to this year’s virtual offering, and over the course of the week will be showcasing their latest product innovations and connecting with their users and audiences.

Believe in Music will host nearly 200 online professional development sessions, along with a haul of events for musicians and specialists in audio production, music and entertainment technology. According to NAMM president and CEO Joe Lamond, pro audio is currently the fastest growing segment of the NAMM Show.

Returning events that are NAMM Show favourites include the 36th annual NAMM TEC Awards and the ninth annual She Rock Awards, whose honorees include The Go-Go’s, drum ace Cindy Blackman Santana and former San Diegan Nancy Wilson of Heart. Both of these events will run on Friday.

Meanwhile, opening sessions featuring Grammy Award-winners Garth Brooks and Melissa Etheridge will take place on Thursday, January 21 and Friday, January 22 at 9am PT. Both are the recipients of NAMM’s Music for Life award, which recognises individuals or organisations for their musical accomplishments and inspiring music makers and will be presented at the opening interview sessions.

Make sure to keep an eye on the Headliner website this week where we will be reporting the latest developments and new product launches.
