Earthworks Audio recently partnered with esports giant PGL to provide stellar sound to its Dota 2 tournament, Wallachia Season 1.
The pro audio specialist’s involvement highlights its continued growth in all sectors of the entertainment world, including live sound, studio, and live-streaming.
“We’ve been so eager to work more with PGL ever since we started this partnership back in 2021,” said Mike Dias, VP of sales and marketing at Earthworks Audio. “Tournaments like Wallachia Season 1 are major entertainment events, and they deserve great audio just as much as events like the Grammys or the Billboard Music Awards. Making incredible microphones is one thing, but to see them used everywhere - touring with major pop stars, recording in world-renowned studios, and now capturing legendary moments in gaming tournaments - is simply outstanding.”
Outside of the gaming realm, Earthworks mics can be found on the largest stages (Coachella, Governors Ball), top studios (Manny Marroquin’s Larrabee Studios, Brad Pitt & Damien Quintard’s Miraval Studios), and the biggest stars (Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Karol G, BLACKPINK, Arctic Monkeys, Willow, etc.).
PGL Wallachia Season 1 ran from May 10-19, 2024. The event was watched by over one million unique viewers, with forty million views and over fourteen million watch hours accumulated by the end.
"Partnering with Earthworks Audio for PGL DOTA 2 Wallachia Season #1 significantly elevated our broadcast quality,” said Alexandru Calin, PGL audio engineer. “Their microphones provided exceptional clarity and detail, capturing the excitement and intensity of our live matches perfectly. The technology's ability to handle complex sounds ensured a flawless audio experience that truly immersed our audience in the action.
“We are extremely pleased with the results and look forward to future collaborations. Earthworks Audio has truly set a new standard for our broadcasts, enhancing the overall production value and viewer experience. This partnership has been a game-changer for us, and we are excited to see what we can achieve together in the future."
