The annual Music Producers Guild Awards took place last night at London’s Grosvenor House, with Dan Carey scooping the top accolade of UK Producer Of The Year for his work on the Black Midi album, Schlagenheim, Kate Tempest’s Firesmoke, and Fontaines' D.C. Boys in the Better Land.
Stormzy won The MPG Inspiration Award, however was unable to collect his award due to touring commitments. The UK rapper sent a “huge thank you to The Music Producers Guild,” adding that he is “very proud and wished he could be there”. He also sent a shout out to Chris Andoh who was there to take home the UK Single Song Release Of The Year award for Stormzy’s hit single, Vossi Bop, which Andoh co-wrote and produced.
