First Yamaha Music London 2024 Ambassador finalists announced

Last night (November 23) saw the first of two semi-final showcases to uncover the next Yamaha Music London ambassadors was held at the brand’s luxurious London store, with four finalists taking their place in the final.

For the second year in a row, Headliner, in partnership with Yamaha Music London, is offering solo artists and duos the chance to become ambassadors for Yamaha’s flagship UK store. Whittled down from hundreds of entries, a shortlist was invited to perform at the store across two semi-finals – the second semi-final will take place on November 30, with the grand final following a week later on December 7, where three winners will be selected.

The first semi-final featured seven acts – Amyee Weir, Jide Kuti, Stone Jets, Matt Ellis, Ayygayle, Peter J Adamson, and Tom White – with four securing their place in the final on the night. The successful acts were selected by a panel of industry experts.

The acts to emerge victorious on the night were Jide Kuti, Stone Jets, Ayygayle, and Peter J Adamson.

The successful acts displayed a variety of different styles and genres, setting the tone for what will undoubtedly be a hotly contested final. London-based Kuti showcased his skills as a singer songwriter and guitarist, combining elements of pop and folk, while Stone Jets – the only duo to perform on the night – demonstrated their own distinct brand of soul through a pair of truly unique compositions.

Ayygayle performed took to one of the venue’s world class acoustic grand pianos to deliver two confessional ballads, described by the artist herself as ‘sad girl pop’, while Peter J Adamson also performed his tracks at the piano, weaving traditional pop with a laid back, elegant playing style.

The Yamaha Music London ambassadorship will provide the winning artists with access to Yamaha's vast range of award-winning instruments for a year, the chance to perform at some of London's best venues (including Yamaha's Soho-based music store) and receive exclusive mentorship in developing their future success as artists.

The winning trio will also benefit from a professional recording session at Headliner HQ's studio, an appearance on the Headliner Radio music podcast, an editorial profile in Headliner, three months of PR support, mentoring sessions, and social media support via shares across Yamaha Music London and Headliner’s social media pages.
