Immerse Gaming | HIVE Brings Spatial Audio To Gaming Headsets

AI-driven spatial audio company Embody has announced Immerse Gaming | Hive, their AI-driven spatial audio software designed to enhance the PC gaming experience.

The company launched Immerse Gaming together with Logitech G and Audio-Technica last year. The new Hive feature further builds on this, bringing AI-driven spatial audio to over 20 popular headsets from the likes of HyperX, Logitech, SteelSeries and Audeze.

Immerse Gaming | Hive uses AI to approximate sound location and create a 3D sound space, similar to existing immersive audio formats.

Hive is powered by Immerse, an HRTF (head-related transfer function) engine that creates a personalised 360 degree sound field using a picture of the users ear. Once set up, users can select their headset or a universal closed-back, in-ear, or open-back profile.

Users also have the option of choosing between Close Combat (RPG or Racing), Immerse (FPS), or Awaken (MOBA, MMORPG) modes to fine tune their listening experience. Another useful feature of Hive is a Sonar Map overlay which shows players where sound is coming from in relation to their in-game character.

You can try Immerse Gaming | Hive on a 14-day free trial, after which an annual license will need to be purchased for US$14.99 or a five-year license for $39.99.
