Wes Nelson and Craig David join forces on new single Abracadabra

Breakthrough artist Wes Nelson has teamed up with UK garage icon Craig David to release new single Abracadabra via TikTok music distribution platform SoundOn.

Abracadabra arrives months after Nelson met with David first met in the studio, with the former citing the latter as one of his biggest musical inspirations.

“Craig asked me to support him at one of his shows in the summer in Ibiza.” Said Nelson. “Craig has been a big inspiration to me since I was a kid, so when the opportunity arose to jump into the studio together it was a no brainer!

“In the past, there have been some comparisons between the two of us as singers, we're on a similar sort of wave and clearly it’s a collaboration that people wanted. We made the whole song start to finish in the studio - it felt really natural and I can't wait for everyone to hear it.”

Abracadabra lands ahead of Nelson’s European headline tour in May, which will include stops in Nottingham, Birmingham, Glasgow, Cardiff and Manchester.

Throughout the last couple of years, Nelson’s career has gone from strength-to-strength, as demonstrated by his recent UK tour, which saw him sell out headline shows across the nation. He also joined N-Dubz, acting as main support for their return tour, where he performed to sold-out crowds at The O2 London and Birmingham's Utilita Arena before joining them at various outdoor festivals across the summer.

He has also taken his performances abroad with shows in Ibiza, Greece, Switzerland, Malta, Dubai and has more upcoming performances planned in central Europe. To date he has accumulated over one billion streams.

Beyond his music career, Nelson starred in TV’s Love Island, was an undefeated champion Muay Thai kickboxer, semi-professional footballer, and Nuclear System Design Engineer. However, his love of music has seen his star continue to rise in the industry. To date, he has received endorsements from the likes of Krept & Konan, Tion Wayne, Adekunle Gold, Headie One, Lewis Capaldi, Liam Payne, and many more.

Last year, Nelson delivered a special headline show at Headliner’s St. Albans venue The Pioneer Club as part of SoundOn Sessions – a partnership between Headliner and SoundOn aimed at highlighting the most exciting new talent in the music industry. He spoke to us on the night about the importance of such events for the future of music, as well as the power of SoundOn in putting control back into the hands of artists.
