iZotope is being recognised by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences with a Scientific and Engineering Award.
The award spotlights developer Alexey Lukin’s work on iZotope’s RX audio processing system alongside a team of more than 70 mathematicians, software engineers, sound designers, product specialists and others.
Given for achievements that produce a definite influence on the advancement of the motion picture industry, the Scientific and Engineering Award solidifies RX’s status as the industry-standard tool for audio repair and enhancement in modern film production.
Utilising technological advances in digital signal processing and machine learning, RX has enabled countless films and TV shows to restore damaged, noisy audio to pristine condition.
First introduced in 2007, iZotope RX has evolved in seven subsequent versions to be the most innovative set of audio repair and enhancement tools available.
RX has contributed to a wide range of Academy Award-winning films for Sound Editing and Sound Mixing including Whiplash, Mad Max: Fury Road, and Bohemian Rhapsody, as well as Best Picture winner Birdman and a long list of top-grossing films including Black Panther and Avengers: Endgame.
