Headliner announces Main Stage winners for Pub in the Park Competition

After months of talent scouting and sparkling performances (not to mention very difficult judging), Headliner and a team of music industry judges has selected four acts to take to the main stage at Pub in the Park, 6-8 September, to support the headline artists.

The winners are: Mike Miller, who will support Tinie Tempah on Friday 6 September; Rolo Vango, who will support Scouting For Girls on the afternoon session of Saturday 7th; Matt McClafferty, who will support Olly Murs on the Saturday evening; and Elena, who will support Paloma Faith on Sunday 8th.

“We had over 100 local entries, all of whom were really good, but we had to whittle that down to 24 for three live heats,” said Headliner’s A&R manager, Grace McGuigan.

The heats took place at The Suet Yard - part of The Pioneer Club, which Headliner has been involved in supercharging over the past 18 months.

“It was great seeing so much new talent come through our venue,” added McGuigan. “Being an aspiring artist myself, I know how daunting it can be to play in front of your peers - but they were all incredible.”

The final judging panel included some music industry heavyweights: Nich Sethi, head of SoundOn EMEA; Emily Green, senior international A&R and Catalogue Manager, Warner Chappell Music UK; Toyin Mustapha, head of music partnerships at Tik Tok (UKI and SSA); Nim Jani of catalyst management (Sam Tompkins); and Rian Zoll-Khan of RNR Management (Wes Nelson).

“We’d like to thank Pub in the Park for providing this opportunity and all those who entered the challenge,” commented Paul Watson, CEO, Headliner Group. “And a big congratulations to the winners. We’re all looking forward to seeing them get their chance to shine on the big stage.”
