Oasis’ hit single Wonderwall has become the first song from the 90s to surpass one billion streams on Spotify.
The classic britpop anthem was released on October 30, 1995 as the third single from the iconic Manchester band’s critically acclaimed second studio album (What's the Story) Morning Glory?
The track has seen a resurgence on the streaming platform following the recent release of the album's 25th anniversary edition.
It joins Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody as the only other song from the 20th century to hit this impressive milestone.
The song was produced by Noel Gallagher and Owen Morris, and according to Gallagher, "Wonderwall" describes "an imaginary friend who's gonna come and save you from yourself."
