Peter Heath, managing director for PLASA has declared that the show’s first outing since 2019 has “exceeded expectations”.
Taking place at Olympia London from September 5-7, PLASA 2021 saw the PLASA team capitalise on the momentum that was built up in 2019.
Having partnered with ABTT (Association of British Theatre Technicians), the show transitioned from the venue’s National Hall to the larger Grand Hall, while a comprehensive seminar programme and live stage for everything from musical performances – from the likes of X Factor and Les Mis' Shan Ako – to panel sessions and product demos ensured that there was plenty going on away from the exhibition floor as well.
“This year’s PLASA Show really has exceeded all expectations, considering how the live sector has suffered over the past 18 months,” Heath told Headliner.
“The organisation of the show certainly had its challenges, with a reduced budget and much shorter time frame. However, looking around the show, the PLASA team can be very proud of themselves.
“I must give a huge amount of credit to the exhibitors too, who have also been financially constrained, yet continued to innovate throughout the pandemic, displaying this to full effect at Olympia London.”
