Skepta supports new talent with launch of Big Smoke Corporation

Multi award-winning music artist Joseph Adenuga AKA Skepta has launched Big Smoke Corporation, a multi-faceted creative collective whose mission is to nurture and invest in the next generation of young creative talent and executives across multiple fields.

Taking the entrepreneurial ethos that first drove Skepta’s music career, Big Smoke Corporation says it is building a completely new approach to creative consultancy and the support of creators themselves.

On launch, Big Smoke Corporation has already signed creative and commercial partnerships with powerhouses including Puma, with whom they have an ongoing relationship with. Last Thursday after months of collaboration Big Smoke Corporation successfully launched the Puma RX-S trainer, with an immersive event at Outernet London – the new immersive media and culture district – featuring a special performance by Skepta.

Delivering on the BSC mission to support young talent, the guest list consisted of many creatives from the culture and community that Skepta and the Big Smoke Corporation team grew up in and have championed their entire careers.

Further projects and partnerships across technology, events, TV & film production and music will be announced in the near future.

In a career spanning over two decades, Skepta has led the way in creating a musical and cultural movement that now dominates the mainstream. A bold and innovative visionary, he started the Big Smoke Corporation to create opportunities through his extensive contact book for creatives from all walks of life to thrive within the industries.

Big Smoke Corporation has already forged a strong and effective Talent Division across a variety of sectors including film, music, culture and corporate. They will focus on signing new talent who represent and champion the ethos of Big Smoke Corporation – trend setters who break the mould and do things differently. The growth of Big Smoke Corporation’s talent division will be accelerated by the launch of Big Smoke Records which will be announced in the coming months.

Joseph Adenuga AKA Skepta, CEO and founder of Big Smoke Corporation, said on the launch:

“During my career I’ve seen many brands and corporations capitalise on the cultural currency of the music and creative industries without adequately supporting artists or those working within these industries.

“This is a unique opportunity for brands and corporations to collaboratively tap into the influence of the industry and culture whilst ensuring they are authentically and adequately supporting creatives and artists. Launching with Puma and Channel 4 has shown future brand partners how they can succeed greatness when they are open to working collaboratively – me and my team look forward to working with like-minded thinking creatives & brands.”

Adenuga has a long history of collaborating with and elevating brands including Nike, Diesel, Klarna, Havana Club, Rolls Royce and Bottega Veneta. His design for Nike’s SK5 shoe sold 40,000 $180 pairs within two minutes.
