d&b audiotechnik has unveiled its most compact amplifier to date in the form of the new 5D system.
Designed to make the German pro audio giant’s sound systems available to a wider range of installations, the 5D is a four channel DSP amplifier, featuring integrated audio networking and flexible output power sharing, in a compact design.
“Especially for our smaller loudspeaker solutions, our new 5D installation amplifier provides flexible usability, uncompromised sonic quality, and seamless system workflow integration. The 5D offers all the interoperability integrators need and expect," commented d&b product manager, Wolfgang Schulz. "Its compact form factor, ability to drive small scale loudspeaker systems – and all at a budget friendly investment – make the 5D a welcome addition to the d&b portfolio."
With a 1 RU 9.5 inch footprint and four-channel design, the D5 amplifier is suitable for driving smaller loudspeakers and can be mounted under tables or ceilings as well as in a rack, meaning that d&b is now able to serve a greater number of installations regardless of the size or needs of the venue.
The 5D is also the first d&b amplifier with integrated Dante networking. This allows for flexible system configuration changes and convenient deployment of decentralized system designs.
