L-Acoustics Streamlines 3D Audio With L-ISA Studio

L-Acoustics is simplifying spatial audio content creation and workflow with the launch of its L-ISA Studio software suite and upgraded L-ISA engine.

Immediately available for download, L-ISA Studio was built for sound designers and mixing engineers who design immersive audio experiences, putting the power and versatility of L-ISA technology into the hands of sound creators to provide them with full control of their mix, from conception to the first stages of production.

Previously, 3D audio design required a dedicated processor and a studio or venue equipped with an immersive sound system, making immersive sound design a demanding and expensive process. Now, creating 3D audio can be accomplished anywhere, anytime, and experienced in natural, immersive sound via L-ISA Studio’s binaural engine and optional head tracking, or in any studio with up to 12 loudspeakers.

The immersive audio platform also leverages the recently launched Contour XO, the professional in-ear monitor reproducing L-Acoustics sonic signature developed in collaboration with JH Audio, to create a fully portable L-Acoustics-powered 3D sound creation and listening experience.

“Our mission for L-ISA Studio is to grant all sound creators the ability to conceive, create, iterate and experience their work in 3D audio,” explains Guillaume Le Nost, executive director, creative technologies at L-Acoustics. “It is the perfect tool to work on the pre-production of an L-ISA live show, the sound design of a new immersive experience, or even mix an album or motion picture in 7.1.4.”

L-ISA Studio contains the same spatial audio and room engine algorithms as its hardware counterpart, the L-ISA Processor, now redesigned and improved with key features for room enhancement, a fully augmented scale simulation mode, and binaural output capabilities.

The upgraded engine, now available in both L-ISA software and hardware, provides sound designers, content creators, and mixing engineers with the ability to hear content in any virtual space of any given size and shape. Control strategies, sonic trajectories, and sound system behaviours can all be defined and then demonstrated in real time, streamlining the creative process in its early stages and minimising the need for last-minute changes.

L-ISA Studio accepts up to 96 audio objects and sends 12 audio outputs to any soundcard. Developed to improve the workflow and unleash the creative potential of all sound creators, L-ISA Studio interfaces with leading digital audio workstations, show control software, and game engines, while offering compatibility with a variety of 3D audio format outputs, including Dolby Atmos and multi-channel configurations.

Monthly and yearly subscriptions for both individual and enterprise use are offered at estore.l-acoustics.com. Discounts are available to students enrolled in qualified audio engineer programmes.
