SSL unveils new ‘80s inspired X-Delay plugin

SSL (Solid State Logic) has expanded its plugin catalogue with the launch of the new X-Delay.

The SSL X-Delay digital delay plugin is designed to offer users an intuitive, controllable experience with a an easy-to-use UI inspired by classic ‘80s hardware units.

In addition to the virtually endless array of sounds that can be created from a combination of up to four independently sync-able tapsfrom saturated slapback vocal delays, to vast stereo soundscapes – the SSL X-Delay is complemented by global FX, such as built-in modulation, SSL’s signature analogue saturation, and a reverb offering multiple diffusion effects and rooms from a single control.

Furthermore, users can add swing and build polyrhythms by dropping sync’d taps into ‘dotted’ and ‘triplet’ modes, while the ability to combine static taps with PING PONG means users can create movement in the stereo field.

A global MULTIPLIER control allows users to halve or double all delay times simultaneously for creative effects, plus, there is new bespoke one-knob DIFFUSION control, featuring a brand-new reverb design.

The SSL X-Delay is the latest in a long line of new plugins released by the pro audio giant in recent months.
