UK-based band on the rise, Stone Jets – the current Yamaha Music London ambassadors – will play at Glastonbury festival 2024.
Stone Jets is a musical partnership between bassist and vocalist Given Nkanyane, guitarist Manfred Klose and drummer Adrien Latgé. Known for their original sound and compositions, Stone Jets creates original toe-tapping music, wrapped in soul with a scattering of traditional elements.
Stone Jets combines the talents of Nkanyane’s distinct voice, Klose’s guitar prowess and Latgé's steady groove. The fusion of the three, together with their simple yet substantial melodic songwriting style and strong live performances, makes them popular crowd-pleasers from Africa to Europe and beyond.
Recently awarded Yamaha Music London Ambassadorship, they are a live force to be witnessed and have already supported James Morrison, Sugababes and the late Hugh Masekela.
Stone Jets won the fourth heat of the Pilton Stage to become the seventh finalists from over 1,300 entries. At the final, Stone Jets were announced together with Sam Evans as winners of the Pilton Stage 2024, winning a slot on one of the prestigious stages at Glastonbury 2024.
Co-creator of Glastonbury, Sir Michael Eavis was present and part of the judging panel at all the heats and finals. Both judging rounds have resulted with Stone Jets being part of his first choices.
“It has been a dream come true for us to be performing at Glastonbury this year, and performing on five stages we will get to soak in all the music culture Glasto has to offer," said the band. "We will also be performing a new stage that will be introduced to the festival this year called “The Wishing Well” where dreams are made!"
Stone Jets will also play in Czech Republic, Germany and Italy as Ambassadors of the Yamaha Flagship store in Europe.
