Introducing the Waves Bass Slapper

  • bassslapper.jpg

In a nutshell, Waves' Bass Slapper plugin is mind-blowing. So much so, we even think our pal Mark King would approve (we'll pass him the link later).

There are, of course, many bass guitar emulation tools on the market, but in terms of slap bass, we haven't seen anything that comes close to this product. It's staggeringly realistic, and if you don't believe us, check out the video below, or better still, pick it up now for under 30 bucks.

The Waves Bass Slapper allows the user complete control of every possible note and articulation, from thumbing, popping, hammer-ons, pull-offs, open string play, legato sounds, and even dead notes.

According to Waves, it has the world’s most extensive sample library of special bass guitar sounds (which doesn't surprise us), with slides, left- and right-hand mutes, and harmonic strums. It lets the player determine precisely where to play on the fretboard, when to switch strings, which strings to thumb or pop, and a lot more.

Furthermore, Bass Slapper features top quality stompbox effects, allowing you to further shape your sound: from vintage warmth to modern punch, and straight-up clean DI bass to authentic amp sonics, be it funk, soul, pop, rock, hip hop, or metal, this very smart little plugin will without question provide you the most convincing slap bass sounds at your keyboard-playing fingertips.
