Women dominated the Brit Awards 2021, which took place at London’s O2 Arena last night in front of a crowd of 4,000 – which was mostly made up of NHS and key workers.
Dua Lipa took home two awards: for British Female, and the most prestigious award of the night – Mastercard British Album of the Year for her Number 1 album Future Nostalgia.
Little Mix took home the Best British Group award, making Brits history by becoming the first female group to win the category. They thanked former band member Jesy, and dedicated the award to the Spice Girls, Sugababes, All Saints, Girls Aloud and other iconic British girl bands who came before them.
Haim won international group – the first all-female group to do so since Destiny’s Child’s win in 2002.
Billie Eilish won international female, Arlo Parks won breakthrough artist, Griff won the rising star award, and Taylor Swift became the first woman to receive the global icon award.
